Together for a greener, more sustainable future

Share

Last August 2, BioD, together with our customers—prominent players in Colombia’s energy sector such as Chevron, Primax, Terpel, Zeuss, Petromil, Puma, and Biomax—came together for a significant planting and restoration day as part of the Mancilla Rural District Socio-Ecological Corridor Project, led by the Guayacanal Foundation in collaboration with BioD. The event stood out not only for the active participation of industry leaders but also for the positive environmental impact it generated in the region, continuing a project that is restoring ecosystems in the district.

During the day, 200 trees were planted to revegetate the upper part of the Mancilla micro-watershed, an area of vital ecological importance. This joint effort seeks not only to help restore the area but also to contribute to hydrological balance and the conservation of local biodiversity, aspects that are crucial for long-term sustainability.

The activity, conceived as a demonstration of commitment to the environment, brought together a diverse group of BioD employees, customers, and strategic partners. Together, they planted trees and took part in ecological restoration activities that highlight the importance of protecting and recovering vulnerable ecosystems.

The Guayacanal Foundation, known for its outstanding work in promoting the long-term restoration and protection of this ecosystem, played a fundamental role in organizing the day. Thanks to its experience and dedication, the event not only met its immediate planting goals but also raised participants’ awareness of the importance of ecological restoration and the need to protect our water sources. It also opened the door for BioD to seek strategic alliances that generate greater impact over time, carrying out actions with local companies and customers whose synergies can help maximize the results the planet needs.

At a time when companies are increasingly aware of their responsibility to the environment, BioD and its customers have set an inspiring example of how to move from words to action. The revegetation of the Mancilla micro-watershed with 200 trees is clear proof of what can be achieved when the private sector joins forces with communities and organizations to protect our natural surroundings.

This event is a powerful reminder that by working together, we can leave a lasting legacy for future generations. BioD and its allies show that, united, we can effectively help build a greener, more balanced future, where development and nature coexist in harmony. May this be only the first of many days held in partnership with companies that promote a positive impact on our planet, as part of the work the Guayacanal Foundation and BioD have been carrying out together for more than 3 years.
